Founded in 2009

Located in Durham, N.C., PTETI   was founded in 2009 by a North Carolina pharmacist  who  has a passion for education, a great appreciation for the field of pharmacy, and more than 25 years of experience  in the pharmacy industry.

We are a small independent school that rivals the big box schools in our curriculum. We are not a diploma mill that prioritizes profit over quality.   Instead, we pride ourselves on providing a exceptional learning experience for our students that produces well-prepared, skilled and knowledgeable pharmacy technicians.

Our  Leadership

A. Banks, RPh, MPH, M.Ed.
 Founder &Program Director  L

 Ms. Banks is a licensed Pharmacist with over 25 years of pharmacy experience.  She has worked in both retail and hospital pharmacy. She is a graduate of  the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in Chapel Hill. Ms. Banks brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for teaching to the classroom.

B. Britton, R.N.
Director & Member of Advisory Committee

Ms. Britton is a Registered Nurse with other 30 years of experience.  She has worked in the PACU and private duty nursing for many years.

R. Newsome, CNA​​
Director & Member of Advisory Committee

Ms. Newsome is an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant and has over 15 years of experience working in longterm care. She has experience as  as a Resident Care Coordinator and Medication Technician.
